What's in my gym bag?

Next week is my first week back in the gym for what feels like forever! Today I thought I would share with you what I carry in my gym bag. I use the gym at my college because it is included in my tuition so I do not have to pay any extra for it.
Let's get started!

This is the bag that I am currently using for my gym items. It is a Vera Wang Princess duffle bag. I love this bag because it is very large, while the items you are about to see do not take up that much space in the bag I use it because I do not change back into my regular clothes after the gym and wanted to make sure I had room for the outfit and shoes I was wearing that day. Now onto what I keep inside the bag.

In my gym bag you will find:
1. Water! Have to stay hydrated!
2. 90 Degree by Reflex workout bottoms. These bottoms have zippers at the bottom and a neon yellow band at the top.
3. Pro-Fit sports bra. I love the neon green color, it's fun!
4. 6.0 Dri-Fit tank top. It is a loose fitting tank top, I do not like tight tops when I am working out.
5. Hoodie to put on after the gym for that chilly walk to the car! I also sometimes work out in a hoodie.
6. Make-up bag. (I will share with you what is in there.)
7. Danskin Now cheerleading sneakers. I just work out in my cheer shoes because I can not find a gym sneaker that does not hurt my feet. Any recommendations?
8. Plastic bag to put my shoes in so that they do not touch my clothes.
9. Ipod. I do not carry this in my gym back but wanted to include it because I am never in the gym without my Ipod.

That is everything in my gym bag! Now here's a close up of my make-up bag, and I will share with you the items I keep in there.

In my make-up bag you will find:

1. Equate make-up remover wipes just in case I want to remove make-up while I am there.
2. Nivea Creme. If I do remove any make-up I have this so I can put on my face right after.
3. Mini Curel Sensitive Skin Remedy for when my skin gets dry and needs some moisture!
4. Mini Curel Ultra Healing Lotion for when my eczema starts acting up. Eczema+sweat=burning
5. Mini PINK spray in fresh & clean so that I can spray myself to freshen up after the gym.
6. Mini Secret deodorant. Do not want to be stinky!
7. A little mesh bag with 2 hair ties and 4 bobby pins to keep my hair out of the way.
8. Chap Ice Medicated Balm so that my lips do not get chapped and to keep the eczema around my lips under control!

There you go! That is everything that I carry to the gym with me.

What do you carry in your gym bag?
What's your favorite shoe to work out in?

bodycology Shimmer Gloss Review

When Wal-Mart was having 50% off all their Christmas items I found these bodycology Shimmer Glosses. I am not a huge fan of shimmer glosses but I figured for $5 it was not a bad buy. The set came with 6 15ml shimmer glosses:

1. Hot Cocoa
2. Candy Cane
3. Berry Flirty
4. Sassy Sugar
5. Passion Berry
6. Sugar Plum

I did swatches on my arm to try and show you guys how they look out of the tube. I apologize for the photo, it is not the best. It was a little difficult to get a picture of the swatches while making sure the flash did not affect the colors. The swatches are in the same order as the photo and list above.

As you can see they are mainly sheer glosses with glitter in them. The only two that really have color pay off are Passion Berry and Sugar Plum ( the last two swatches).

All in all I do like this product and think it was a good buy. I was mainly worried that they were either going to be really really sticky, which I HATE or taste really bad! They are not that sticky! I was happy to find that when I put them on I was fine with the consistency. It was not the sticky feeling that makes you want to just take your lipgloss off right away. I think the amount of glitter in it is a pretty perfect amount. It's not to the point where its over powering and/or obnoxious.

Flavor wise Hot Cocoa is my absolute favorite! It smells just like Hot Coco and when you put it on your lips the taste is exactly how it smells. I like to pair it with my nude lipsticks.

I think that they were worth the $5 spent on them, however if they were full price I most likely would have not gotten them. They were $10 full price.

Thumbs up for bodycology shimmer glosses!

Aveeno Obsession?!

I guess you could call it that! It's no secret that I use A LOT of Aveeno products. Since in my last post I shared with you my nighttime skin care routine I figured I would stick with the topic of skin care for today's post. I am going to give my thoughts and opinions about each Aveeno product that I currently own. Let's get started!

~My skin type: Extra dry, sensitive, eczema prone~

1. Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion
          * This is my back up lotion for the Aveeno Intense Relief Overnight Cream (which I will be talking about later). When I purchased them I thought that they were different lotions until my mom told me to read the back of them. They are basically the same thing! *face palm* But I wasn't too upset because it was larger than the other lotion and came in a pump bottle so I kept it as a back up for when I run out of the other one.

2. Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash
          * I love this body wash! When my eczema gets really bad I can not put soap on it because it burns like crazy. This body wash is very soothing and does not irritate my eczema.

3. Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream
          * When my eczema was really bad I would always put this on it to keep it moisturized. It does not irritate my eczema because it is fragrance-free and has oatmeal in it. It is not greasy and I like the way that it feels on my skin.

4. Aveeno Intense Relief Overnight Cream
          * I would keep this next to my bed when my eczema was flaring up. It is a little thicker than the eczema therapy cream. It does help with itch relief to some extent. If any of you have eczema you know what I mean when I say that somethings it's almost as if nothing can stop the itch!

5. Aveeno Ultra-Calming Moisturizing Cream Cleanser
         * I think this is the one product that I do not really care for. It does seem to burn my eczema when it is on my face. I also just do not feel that it is really doing much of anything, no the less washing my face.

6. Aveeno Skin Relief Moisture Repair Cream
          * This cream is supposed to help restore and maintain moisture barrier of extra-dry skin. I use this on my face. I put it on right after I wash my face. I leave my face a little wet and put the cream on top. It helps my skin retain the water and stay hydrated. I love this cream, and I think it works great! It is 11 oz. and has lasted me a while! I am still on my first tub and will most definitely repurchase it when I run out!

7. Aveeno 1% Hydrocortisone  Anti-Itch Cream
          * There really is not too much to say about this product, it is just basically like any ol' hydrocotisone cream but with Aveeno's name on it. I do use it on my eczema when it gets really itchy. I keep this in my purse so it is on me at all times just in case I flare up. I've also used it on bug bites. I am starting to run low so I need to pick up an other tube!

I definitely recommend the Aveeno brand to anyone with extra dry, sensitive, eczema prone skin. Aside from my face wash, I love all of the products that I own by them. All the products are fragrance free and have some type of oat or oatmeal in it. Most of my products I think smell like oatmeal but that does not really bother me because I would rather smell like oatmeal than use a product where I love the smell but it irritates my skin. Sometimes you must sacrifice for beauty!

Nighttime Skin Care Routine!

Everyone's skin is different, whether you have dry skin, oily skin, combination skin, acne prone skin, etc. This makes everyone's skin care routine different and for some people their morning and nighttime routines may vary. With that said today I will be sharing with you my nighttime skin care routine! I'll start off with explaining my skin type. I have very dry sensitive skin and am very prone to eczema. I have it most of the year, very badly. And now my nighttime skin care routine!

Product List:
1. Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes
2. Vaseline
3. Aveeno Ultra-Calming Moisturizing Cream Cleanser
4.Aveeno Moisture repair cream: Intense moisture
5. Curel Ultra healing lotion

First
I remove as much make-up as I can with make-up remover wipes. Currently I am using the Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes.

Second
I then wash my face with my Aveeno Ultra-Calming Moisturizing Cream Cleanser. This cleanser does not lather and is supposed to be good for sensitive skin. After I wash my face, I pat my face dry. I don't exactly love this cleanser. I just feel as though it is not cleaning my face. Also it does burn my eczema and my dry patches on my face. I am currently in the market for a new face cleanser. Any recommendations?

Third
After I pat my face dry I use my Curel Ultra Healing lotion. I apply it all over my face. To me this is a 'heavy' lotion. I only use it at night because I don't like the feeling it gives my face but it really does help my dry skin. On the back it says that it is non-greasy but that is the only why I could think to describe it. It could be because my skin is so dry anytime I find a product that really moisturizes my skin I think it's greasy LOL.
It is a great night time lotion.

Fourth
I then apply my Aveeno moisture repair cream: intense moisture. I love this lotion, it keeps my face very moisturized during the day. It does not burn my eczema what so ever. I use this at night and in the morning. I kind of smells like oatmeal (as well as most of my Aveeno products)

Fifth
Lastly I apply Vaseline all over my lips. Sometimes if my eczema is really bad I will apply it over my eczema patches before I apply any moisture to my face. I have found that by doing that it helps reduce the chance of my eczema flaking in the morning.

What's your nighttime skin care routine?
What are some of your favorite skin care products and why?

Jewelry Organization/Storage!

Hello Jewelry Tree!
So recently I purchased this jewelry tree organizer for $7.49! I thought it was a cute way to display my jewelry rather than keeping it all in drawers. I absolutely love it! It is great for my jewelry collection because my collection is not that large so it fits everything perfectly! (If you have a larger collection you may not be able to use it as your only means of storage/organization like I mostly did).

There are 2 holes on each leaf, so that you can hang your earrings from them. With some of my earrings I was able to hang both earrings in one hole, making more space, however with the studs you have to have one earring per hole. There are long branches and short branches that do not have leaves on them. On these I keep my rings, my bracelets and some of my shorter necklaces. A majority of my necklaces are sitting in the bottom part of the tree. As you see in the picture I keep my 4 chunky bracelets sitting in front of the tree. I do have some necklaces that do not fit on/in this jewelry tree. Those necklaces are "tacked" to a cork board or the wall over my desk/vanity.

All in all I definitely love this jewelry tree! It does exactly what I need it to do and works great with my relatively small collection!

How do you store your jewelry?

New Products!

Hello everyone!
So recently I have purchased some new beauty products, exciting! I wanted to share them with you. I will be trying them out for a few weeks then I will be doing a full review on most of them! This is pretty much my first impression of the products.
So with that said, let's get started!

~Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes~

They were $5.99 for 40 pre-moistened towelettes. I've never used this brand before, I usually just grab the cheap store brand makeup removal towelettes. I have a lot of problems with different brands burning my face because I do have eczema. So we shall see if this brand is a keeper.

~Maybelline New York Dream Fresh BB cream~

I am very excited to finally try out a BB cream! I got mine in the shade medium. It costed a little more than $7 at Wal-Mart. It is 1 fl. oz. When I tested it out in the store for color it blended right in so I am hoping it looks good when I apply it all over my face. I will be trying this out for a week or two then I will be doing a full review!

~New York Color Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer~

I also purchased this at Wal-Mart for close to $3! It is 1 fl. oz. I have used it twice under my Sephora Instant Radiance Foundation. So far I like it, I was nervous when I first squeezed it into my hand because it looks like there is shimmer in it and it is like a silver color, but when I put it on my face it all blended in. So far so good with this product, and great price!

~New York Color Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder~

Another NYC product, it was also around $3! It is in the color translucent. I got this to set the BB cream with because I already have a powder that I set my foundation with (which I will mention next). I've never used a translucent powder before so I am curious to see how this one will work. Mainly because I have tan skin, so I don't want it to make me look ghostly. We shall see how it works, expect a review for this one also!

~Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder~

I picked this up at Wal-Mart (wow, I go there too much!) I paid $3.97! I got it in the color Creamy Beige. This is the first time I have found a powder to match my skin tone. After paying $22 at Sephora for a powder that was way too dark I was excited to find a powder that was way cheaper and match my skin tone!

~Maybelline New York Baby Lips~

This was around $3. This is not my first baby lips product, however it is the first one I've picked up that is tinted. I recently just finished a baby lips in Peppermint, it was just a clear one. This one is in peach kiss. It is a nude color and I thought it would be perfect to wear on top of my nude lipsticks rather than just using a regular clear lip balm. I'm curious to see if I will like the concept of a tinted lip balm.

That's all the products that I have recently picked up. I will definitely be posting full reviews of the BB cream,  the translucent powder, and the Rimmel Stay Matte powder once I have had a chance to test them all out.

Update!

Happy New Year everyone!!
I know, I know. I have been MIA since my last post. I was having trouble juggling school and work so trying to throw blogging in the mix was pretty much IMPOSSIBLE! I also was having like bloggers block. I just wasn't sure what I wanted to blog about or what direction I wanted to take my blog in the new year. So I have just a few changes!
1. I am going to be pre writing some blogs on the weekend, that way if I am swamped with homework and don't have time to make a post I have backup posts that are already written. This way I can post days a week!
2. I am going to be doing lots of reviews! I love reviews and trying new products. Want me to review something? email me -> allthings_ally@yahoo.com
3.I'm hoping that soon I will have a new camera for pictures, because my cell just is not cutting it anymore.
4. I've got a list of things to appear on the blog (reviews, collection posts, tags, etc!) so stay tuned! (I know I've said this like twice before but this time I have found a way to keep everything organized so that I do not neglect the blog!)

With that said coming later today with be the first offical blog of 2013!
