Beauty Blog Challenge: Day Seven!

Favorite Animal

Not quite sure what this has to do with a beauty blog challenge lol! Day seven is like the outcast of all the other topics. By anyways I would have to say owls are my favorite animal. For some reason I just love anything with owls on them, I think they are adorable!

How can you not think these little guys aren't cute?!

What is your favorite animal?

Beauty Through The Decades Series! (beauty bloggers needed!)

Lately I've been thinking about different series that I could do and as I was looking at pictures of makeup and that's when I thought a Beauty Through The Decades Series would be fun! I would do a makeup tutorial for each of the decades. I thought it would be different to highlight the makeup trends of all the decades and how far makeup has come!

However I didn't just want to do this by myself. I want to incorporate other bloggers! I am going to do a look for each of the decades but I would like to also feature a blogger in each post with their makeup look for that decade. That way people can see how the makeup trend from those decades look on some else also and not just me.

These looks will be posted every Monday starting next week.

If you would like to participate in the Beauty Through The Decades Series please shoot me an email at allthings_ally@yahoo.com with the series as the subject and we can discuss which decade you would like to do!

The decades will be:
20s (6/24) - Taken !
30s (7/1) - Still Available !
40s (7/8) - Taken !
50s (7/15) - Taken !
60s (7/22) - Taken !
70s (7/29) - Taken !
80s (8/5)- Taken !
90s (8/12)- Taken!
and the closing post of the series will be Bloggers Signature look where I will feature my signature look and I would love to have all the bloggers that participate feature their signature look! This will be on August 19!

Beauty Blog Challenge: Day Six!

Anything Hello Kitty

I wanted to keep this post makeup related so I chose the Sephora Hello Kitty Graffiti brush kit. I do not think that they sell this kit anymore but I am not 100% positive. Ever since I saw this this brush set I thought it was adorable! I definitely want to get my hands on it if they still sell it and if they don't I shall choose one of their other adorable Hello Kitty brush sets!

Updated Nighttime Skincare Routine!

In January I did a nighttime skincare routine. Of course not too long after I posted that routine I started shopping around for new products mainly because I did not like the face wash that I was using. Since then there have been a few changes to my nighttime skincare routine and I am going to share it with you! Just a reminder I have dry sensitive skin and usually have eczema.

I start by removing my face makeup with my Equate Makeup Remover Wipes. These are the Walmart brand makeup removing wipes. I like the packaging of these wipes because they don't dry out as quickly. I use one wipe front and back to remove my face makeup.

To remove my eye makeup I use the L'OREAL Paris Clean Artiste eye makeup remover. It is 100% oil-free. I put some of this on a cotton round and hold it on my eye for a few seconds. Then I wipe off my eye makeup. It does a good job at getting waterproof mascara off also.

I wash my face with the PURPOSE Gentle Cleansing Wash. I really like this face wash. This replaced the Aveeno face wash that I was previously using. This does not burn my face and does not irritate my eczema. This wash does not really get foamy. It is a very gentle face wash.

After I wash and dry my face I use the Equate Sensitive Skin Astringent. This is also a Walmart brand product. I pour some of this on a cotton round and swipe it across my face. This just helps pick up any makeup and/dirt that was left behind. It does give a tingling feeling when you put it on your face.

I then moisturize my face with the Curel Ultra Healing lotion. To me this is a 'heavy' lotion. I only use it at night because I don't like the feeling it gives my face but it really does help my dry skin. On the back it says that it is non-greasy lotion.

I apply a small amount of vitamin E oil on my under eyes. While doing some research I found that you could put vitamin E oil on dark circles so I have been testing that out. I only apply the vitamin E oil at night.

Lastly I use my e.l.f. lip exfoliator and apply a coat of vaseline to my lips. I love the lip exfoliator! It really leaves your lips smooth and it tastes good. Sometimes if my eczema is really bad I will apply it over my eczema patches.. I have found that by doing that it helps reduce the chance of my eczema flaking in the morning.

What are some products that are essential to your nighttime routine?

Beauty Blog Challenge: Day Five!

Favorite Makeup Brand

For my favorite Makeup brand it would be between e.l.f. and wet n wild! They are both great brands that are extremely affordable. I must say that I tend to have more luck with wet n wild products when it comes to hits rather than misses. However e.l.f. is stepping up their game. I would have to say my makeup collection is equally made up of both of these brands.

Selena Gomez Come and Get It Inspired Tutorial !

This is my take on Selena Gomez's makeup look in her music video for Come and Get It! This is the first time I've ever recreated a celeb look so I hope you guys enjoy it!

Let's Get Started!

Inspiration Photos:

My Recreated Look:

Products I Used:

  • Ivory and Wheat e.l.f. shadows (top two)
  • Eyelid and Crease color in Wet N Wild I'm getting Sunburned Palette
  • e.l.f. glitter shadow in Night Owl
  • Wet N Wild Take on the Day eyelid primer

  • e.l.f. studio eyebrow kit in Dark
  • Sephora eyeliner in black
  • e.l.f. studio cream eyeliner in black
  • e.l.f. clear brow gel
  • Revlon Fabulash mascara in Blackest Black and waterproof
  • Wet N Wild Megalength mascara in black and waterproof

  • Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Coral
  • e.l.f. smoothing lip balm in Strawberry creme

Tutorial:

  • You want to start by applying the Wet N Wild Take on the Day primer all over your eyelids.
  • Next take the eyelid color from the I'm Getting Sunburned trio and apply it all over your lids stopping a little higher than your crease. Smudge it into your lower lash line.
  • Take the crease color from the same palette and apply it to the outer corners working it into the crease. Make sure to use a fluffy blending brush and really blend this color out. You don't want it to be too dark.
  • Then mix Ivory and Wheat from the e.l.f. palette together and apply this under the brows as your highlight.

  • Take the Sephora eyeliner and line your water line and tight line with it.
  • Using the e.l.f. cream eyeliner line your upper and lower lash line creating a winged eye.
  • Apply 2 coats of the Revlon Fabulash Mascara to your upper lashes.
  • Apply 1 coat of the Wet N Wild Megalength mascara to your lower lashes.
  • Using the e.l.f. eyebrow kit fill in and shape your brows.

  • If your lips are dry apply e.l.f. smoothing lip balm in Strawberry creme
  • Apply Revlon's colorburst lipstick in Coral

Voilà! Your all finished!

Beauty Blog Challenge: Day Four!

Favorite Foundation!

The Sephora Instant radiance foundation would be my favorite foundation! I wear the shade Medium 28 Camel. I really like the finish this gives my face. I love even more that it doesn't irritate my skin or my eczema. My bottle is almost empty just in time for summer!

What's your favorite foundation?
