Concealer Hunt!

For the past few months I have been on the hunt for a concealer to use on my under eye circles. In this time I have purchase 3 concealers. Unfortunately they do not seem to be working for me. I am going to share with you the concealers that I purchased and my thoughts about them.

1. Hard Candy Nobody's Perfect Concealer Palette

  • I purchased this concealer palette at Walmart for $8.00. I chose the color "fair" because the colors in the "medium" palette looked like they were going to be way to dark for my skin. This palette comes with 3 skin tone concealers and 3 color correcting concealers: pink, yellow and green. The color I use in this palette is the first skin tone color on the left. The other two are way too light. This is the first time I had ever purchased color correcting concealers. These concealers are creamy and the color I use matches my skin tone pretty well. However the problem arises when I try to conceal my under eye circles. It cakes really bad under my eyes and makes my fine lines even more noticeable. This could either be because it is just not a good concealer for dry skin or I am just not applying it correctly. If you own this concealer palette how do you guys apply this concealer to your under eyes?
2. Hard Candy Glamoflauge heavy duty concealer

  • I also purchased the Glamoflauge concealer from Walmart for $6.00. It comes with a concealer pencil. When I was picking my shade I was stuck between "medium" and "tan". I thought that "medium" was going to work for my skin tone but when I got home and tried to apply it, it seemed to be a little too light. I thought that it would be okay considering that my under eye circles are pretty dark so it would help lighten them up but I wasn't able to get this concealer to blend well. I know that the "tan" shade will be way too dark. If they had a color in between "medium" and "tan" it would be perfect! If you own this concealer, how do you apply it under your eyes? I am still working with this one to see if I can get it to work with my skin.
3. e.l.f. Studio Maximum Coverage Concealer - Oil Free

  • I purchased this on www.eyeslipsface.com for $3.00. You get A LOT of product for just $3.00, 0.7 fl oz. I purchased the color "beige" (shown above, picture taken from website). The swatch online was the PERFECT color match for my skin tone, but when it arrived I was pretty disappointed. The color was lighter than it appeared online and when I tried to use it under my eyes it just left a really bad grey cast under my eyes and it did not match my skin tone. Not attractive at all! If it wasn't for the misleading color I believe that this could potentially be a good concealer. With that said I am going to purchase the color "tan" which is the next shade darker. The online swatch looks like it is going to be too dark but if the true color is lighter than the online swatch like "beige" was, the color match should be pretty good. Have any of you guys used this concealer? If so, do you like it?

These are the concealers that I have tried so far! I am still on the hunt for a good under eye concealers that works well with dry skin! I will keep you all updated on my concealer hunt as I try more concealers!

What are some of your favorite concealers?!

Make-up Madness: Wet n Wild collection!

Let's get started!

Color Icon Palettes
  • From left to right I own: "I Got Good Jeans", "I'm Getting Sunburned", "Silent Treatment", "Spoiled Brat", "Walking on Eggshells", "Cool as a Cucumber" and "Lust".
  • I absolutely love these palettes! They are affordable which is always a plus. Also they are very pigmented! The colors are gorgeous! They are definitely a product to invest in. I use "Walking on Eggshells" everyday!

Color Icon Blush and Bronzers
  • The bronzer I have is in the shade "Goddess" and the blush is in the shade "Mellow Wine". These are also great products. I do find that I need to have a light hand with these products because they are EXTREMELY pigmented. If I am not careful with the bronzer it will look like I smeared mud all over my cheeks. LOL!

Color Icon pencil liners and Mega Liner
  • For about a dollar these pencil liners are worth it. There is a good choice of colors. I use the white liner in my water line a lot. They are creamy so you can put them in your water line with no problems. As for the mega liner, I wish I would have gotten the waterproof one because this one smudges and runs really badly. I look like a raccoon when I wear it.

Megalength Mascara
  • This is my everyday mascara! I love it. It really gives your lashes a lot of length and separates them. It does not clump my lashes or flake throughout the day. The only down fall about this product is that it is not water proof and as far as I know there is not a water proof version (please correct me if I am wrong!). Definitely recommend this mascara !

Megalast Matte Lipsticks
  • From left to right I own: 901b-Think Pink, 902c-Bare it all, 903c-Just Peachy, 907c-Mauve outta here, 916d-Ravin' Raisin and 919b-Vamp it up.
  • These are my FAVORITE lipsticks! Super pigmented and I love that they are matte! They pretty much stay on all day! My two favorite colors are Think pink and Bare it all. Bare it all is my everyday nude lipstick. It looks great with my skin tone and it is my perfect nude. Below are some swatches of the lip sticks.

Make-Up Madness: e.l.f. Studio Collection!

Let's Jump Right In!
(Note: All products were $3 unless otherwise stated)

*Endless Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palette*

  • This palette costs $10 and you get 100 shadows! It's definitely a good deal! I really love this palette, there is a great range of colors. The only problem I have with the palette is mainly the first row of shadows and the last 2 rows of shadows. Now matter how hard you try and get the color to come up it just doesn't show up whatsoever. Even the black doesn't work. With that said I still think its a good deal because you do get a lot of shadows and in my case I own so many blacks and grays it doesn't matter that that row doesn't work.

*Natural eye palette*

  • This was part of a set that I purchased at Target for around $5. This palette is great for your neutral color needs, and is perfect for creating neutral looks. Great size for travel and I use this very often.

*Eyebrow kit*
  • I have this kit in dark. I use it everyday to fill in and shape my brows. The powder shade is a little on the light side for my brows but paired with the gel you can't even tell! If you are looking for an affordable brow kit I definitely recommend this one.

*Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder*
  • I purchased this before they came out with the other shades they now carry. So mine doesn't have a shade on the sticker, however I went online to see which one it is. Looks like it is the shade "St. Lucia". I love this blush!! I wear it everyday, it is definitely my go to blush. It has some shimmer in it but not so much that it's unflattering. However, I really dislike the bronzer. I do not like that there is shimmer in it and it is just WAY too dark. It looks like I tried to contour with mud. I think this duo is definitely worth it for the blush.
*Tone correcting powder*
  •  I also purchased this before they came out with the other shades. So I went on their site to figured out which shade it is and it is "cool". I must say I am not entirely impressed with the product as for the tone correcting. I got it to help with the redness from my eczema and it didn't really do anything at all. Part of that could be at fault of the eczema. I wouldn't buy it again, it just wasn't working with my skin.
*Body Shimmer*
  • This is in the shade "blazing bronze. It was a product that came in my free $20 mystery bag. This is a promotion that they have often, spend $25 and get a mystery bag with $20 worth of free product. Personally I do not care for it. The website states that you can use it on your cheeks, lips or eyes. I do not have any use for this product. It's way to dark to be a bronzer and the amount of shimmer is not appealing. I am glad I did not spend my money on it.

*Cream Eyeliner and Waterproof Eyeliner Crayon*
  • I really like both of these products. I have the cream eyeliner in black and I have the waterproof eyeliner crayons in navy and gunmetal. The cream liner stays on all day and I do not have a problem with is smudging or running. The only problem I have with the waterproof eyeliner crayon is that they do not seem to work in the waterline.

*Glitter Gloss*
  • I have the shade Golden Glitz. I really love the color but I dislike this product. It is SO sticky! It just feels nasty on the lips. I will not be purchasing any more glitter glosses

* Lip Primer and Plumper*
  • I do not use the plumper side so I cannot give my opinion on it. I really like the primer side though. I use it whenever I am wearing bright colors. It works great in filling in lines and I find that the colors look better with the primer under.
* Lip Lock Pencil*
  • I LOVE this. It really does lock your lipstick in place and keep it there all day long! This is a great product and worth investing in!

Organization/Storage Tip: Makeup

(My First post without crappy cell phone pictures. YAY!)

For today's post I am going to share with you guys how I store my makeup and makeup brushes. This is just what works for me. Hopefully it will give some you guys some ideas on how to store your makeup products also.

The photo above is what the top of my desk looks like. The leopard print box was a jewelry box. I took all the drawers out and laid it down. That way there are 6 openings for me to put things in. I store all my everyday makeup in this. I really like it because everything is just right there. The little openings are organized into categories; Lips, Concealer, Foundation/Face Primer, Powders, Eyes, Eyebrows. I keep my e.l.f. lip exfoliator on the left corner and my Maybelline Vivids in Pink Pop on the right corner (because I think the packaging is cute!).

I purchased these little "containers" at the dollar store. They were each $1. My eye brushes are in the square ones along with my lip glosses. I purchased silver sand filler(it honestly looks like tiny rocks, not sure why it was called sand) at Walmart for around $4 to fill the "containers" with to keep my eye brushes in place for a Sephora inspired brush holder. I keep my face brushes in the round "container".

My desk is not an even surface. The right side is higher up (printer ideal desks). On this side I keep my skincare, my makeup mirror and this plastic organizer. I purchased this at Target 3 years ago when I was buying things for my dorm room freshman year of college. This just holds the rest of my makeup. In the back section I have my e.l.f. brush shampoo and daily brush cleaner along with some face masks and extra foundation and liquid liners.

This is the section the lifts open. I store all my lipsticks in here. There are 16 in there. That's all that fits in there. I really want to get a lipstick holder so that I can display all my lipstick.

This is the first drawer. I keep all my eyeliners, jumbo eyeshadow pencils, lip liners and my color tattoo in here.

This is the second drawer. I keep all my bronzers and blushes in here. I own a lot of e.l.f. bronzers and blushes. My favorite bronzer is the N.Y.C bronzer in Sunny. That is not in this drawer because I wear it everyday.

The last drawer is where I keep all my eyeshadows. I have a ton of the Wet N' Wild color icon trios. I really like them. The color pay off is great! I also have a good bit of e.l.f. shadows in there also.

That is how I store my makeup. I really like my storage system. It works really well for me and the size of my collection.

How do you store your makeup?

bodycology Shimmer Gloss Review

When Wal-Mart was having 50% off all their Christmas items I found these bodycology Shimmer Glosses. I am not a huge fan of shimmer glosses but I figured for $5 it was not a bad buy. The set came with 6 15ml shimmer glosses:

1. Hot Cocoa
2. Candy Cane
3. Berry Flirty
4. Sassy Sugar
5. Passion Berry
6. Sugar Plum

I did swatches on my arm to try and show you guys how they look out of the tube. I apologize for the photo, it is not the best. It was a little difficult to get a picture of the swatches while making sure the flash did not affect the colors. The swatches are in the same order as the photo and list above.

As you can see they are mainly sheer glosses with glitter in them. The only two that really have color pay off are Passion Berry and Sugar Plum ( the last two swatches).

All in all I do like this product and think it was a good buy. I was mainly worried that they were either going to be really really sticky, which I HATE or taste really bad! They are not that sticky! I was happy to find that when I put them on I was fine with the consistency. It was not the sticky feeling that makes you want to just take your lipgloss off right away. I think the amount of glitter in it is a pretty perfect amount. It's not to the point where its over powering and/or obnoxious.

Flavor wise Hot Cocoa is my absolute favorite! It smells just like Hot Coco and when you put it on your lips the taste is exactly how it smells. I like to pair it with my nude lipsticks.

I think that they were worth the $5 spent on them, however if they were full price I most likely would have not gotten them. They were $10 full price.

Thumbs up for bodycology shimmer glosses!

Have you ever tried any products from bodycology?
Do you recommend any?
What's your favorite?

New Products!

Hello everyone!
So recently I have purchased some new beauty products, exciting! I wanted to share them with you. I will be trying them out for a few weeks then I will be doing a full review on most of them! This is pretty much my first impression of the products.
So with that said, let's get started!

~Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes~

They were $5.99 for 40 pre-moistened towelettes. I've never used this brand before, I usually just grab the cheap store brand makeup removal towelettes. I have a lot of problems with different brands burning my face because I do have eczema. So we shall see if this brand is a keeper.

~Maybelline New York Dream Fresh BB cream~

I am very excited to finally try out a BB cream! I got mine in the shade medium. It costed a little more than $7 at Wal-Mart. It is 1 fl. oz. When I tested it out in the store for color it blended right in so I am hoping it looks good when I apply it all over my face. I will be trying this out for a week or two then I will be doing a full review!

~New York Color Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer~

I also purchased this at Wal-Mart for close to $3! It is 1 fl. oz. I have used it twice under my Sephora Instant Radiance Foundation. So far I like it, I was nervous when I first squeezed it into my hand because it looks like there is shimmer in it and it is like a silver color, but when I put it on my face it all blended in. So far so good with this product, and great price!

~New York Color Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder~

Another NYC product, it was also around $3! It is in the color translucent. I got this to set the BB cream with because I already have a powder that I set my foundation with (which I will mention next). I've never used a translucent powder before so I am curious to see how this one will work. Mainly because I have tan skin, so I don't want it to make me look ghostly. We shall see how it works, expect a review for this one also!

~Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder~

I picked this up at Wal-Mart (wow, I go there too much!) I paid $3.97! I got it in the color Creamy Beige. This is the first time I have found a powder to match my skin tone. After paying $22 at Sephora for a powder that was way too dark I was excited to find a powder that was way cheaper and match my skin tone!

~Maybelline New York Baby Lips~

This was around $3. This is not my first baby lips product, however it is the first one I've picked up that is tinted. I recently just finished a baby lips in Peppermint, it was just a clear one. This one is in peach kiss. It is a nude color and I thought it would be perfect to wear on top of my nude lipsticks rather than just using a regular clear lip balm. I'm curious to see if I will like the concept of a tinted lip balm.

That's all the products that I have recently picked up. I will definitely be posting full reviews of the BB cream,  the translucent powder, and the Rimmel Stay Matte powder once I have had a chance to test them all out.
